5 Ways to Transform Your Money Mindset

What’s your relationship with money like? On one hand, you may experience limiting beliefs around money. These beliefs may constantly tell you that you’re poor, you’ll never have any money, and you’re not good at making money. On the other hand, you might struggle with overspending, having careless money habits, and being financially disorganized. No matter where you are on that spectrum, I have good news.

Above all, you’re money mindset can always change. Our brains are elastic, meaning they can stretch and grow and change in incredible ways.

You are not stuck, even if you feel stuck. And if you’re here reading this post, you’re already part way there, so congrats! I hope these strategies help you like they’ve helped me. It’s a process, but over the past few years I’ve been able to really transform my limiting beliefs and attract more wealth into my life.

1. Let go & forgive your financial past

Forgiving yourself is one of the post powerful acts of self-compassion and self-love. Forgive yourself for having a difficult relationship with money. Maybe you’re relationship with money was caused by something in your past, like the financial habits of your parents or a spouse. Forgive yourself and let it go. Today is a new day and a great day for a change!

2. Recognize your financial habits & thoughts

When you think about money, what often comes up? What are the thoughts you have on a daily basis around money? What are your spending habits like? How often do you check your bank account? How many streams of income do you have coming in? Do you see yourself being rich in the future? Or do you believe you’ll be poor?

Really thinking about your day to day financial habits is key to recognizing what needs to change.

3. Know your worth

You deserve to be wealthy and to feel financially secure. To me, this is one of the hardest parts of changing your money mindset. If you’ve felt like for so long that you don’t deserve money, this can feel really hard to change. One way to change your thoughts around your worth is by reminding yourself every single day. This brings me to my next point.

4. Practice Positive Affirmations

A great way to remind yourself of your worth is through positive affirmations. A lot of these positive affirmations are based on the law of attraction. (You can learn how to use the law of attraction here.) Here are a few of my favorite examples.

  • “Money is constantly flowing in my direction.”
  • “I already have all of the money I need.”
  • “I’m smart, capable, and worthy of being rich.”

Write these down and repeat them in your head or out loud each day. Doing this can actually train your subconscious mind which will then change your money mindset!

5. Take Action

Sometimes the best way to transform your thoughts is to take action. In other words, by changing your behavior, you can change your mind!

You can take action in a lot of different ways. For example, you can read books on transforming your money mindset, listen to podcasts, and watch Ted talks. In addition, consider creating a budget, committing to a side hustle, or asking for a raise at work.

Without taking any action, it’s hard to actually change your mindset, which is why I think taking action is really important.

I hope these ideas help you in transforming your money mindset. To sum it up, forgive your past, recognize your financial habits, practice positive affirmations, and take action. I’d love to know which steps felt the most helpful or if you have any questions. Leave a comment down below!
